Romulo MATTEONI and Leonardo ALMEIDA

"The products of the design process are much too different and seem to have little in common, but essentially, no matter how they are built, all of them have at least two key features that lay a common ground: they are products of a design process and they all bring symbolic values which may lead them to different uses, or even give them new meanings, depending on the niche of society they communicate with. Addressing some insights into the field of Design, a historical overview of the design culture, the concepts of communication (Bakhtin) and the concept of ""author function"" (Foucault), we discuss the places of authorship in the Design process, taking into account the products as isolated events in a constantly developing cycle."
