dmi:Design Management Conference Europe

Design and Architecture Norway (DOGA)
Oslo, Norway
19-21 June, 2017

The Design Management Conference #DMC17 held every year in Europe, draws executives, founders, and emerging leaders in Design and Innovation Management. This year we travelled to Oslo where Design and Architecture Norway (DOGA) graciously hosted the event in their beautiful building at Haussman Gate.

Across three days workshop facilitators, keynote speakers and session leaders focused on “Design Strategy and FutureProofing: Building Value & Resilience”. They examined sustainability in all its forms: in business models, markets, organizations, culture, cities and environments and tackled the role that Design and Design Management can play to reframe opportunity, create value, emphasize environmental stewardship, and build stronger societies.

Thank you to everyone that attended, to our distinguished speakers and session leaders, and to our generous sponsors: Mission, VanBerlo, Designit and DOGA.

Facilitator: Nelson Soken, PhD: CEO, N.H. Soken Consulting; Author of Lead the Pack: Sparking Innovation That Drives Customers Wild

This workshop will help you customize the dmi:Design Value System (DVS) tools to ascertain your design organization’s current capabilities, represent your organization’s future contributions, measure and communicate the impact of design in your organization, and construct a plan for managing future growth.

Design & Architecture Walk: The Identity of the New Oslo Fjord City

Join guides Ellen Margrethe Skilnand and Knut Bang of DOGA, experts on Oslo’s architecture, identity and design. They have curated a walk with DMI members in mind, exploring Oslo’s building and creativity boom in Fjordbyen (Fjord City); the state-of-the-art waterfront that has transformed an urban barrier separating the city from the fjord into a thriving cultural neighborhood. The walk gives the participants a unique insight into the new city district – from infrastructure, iconic buildings, and public spaces to new urban dwellings.
