Impact by Design: Making Meaning / Creating Value

Design delivers value by driving innovation and by creating deep meaning through products, services, and multidimensional customer experiences. What greater role can design play in making meaning while creating competitive advantage? Join innovation leaders at the dmi:Design Management Conference #DMC20, in Madrid to discuss:

  • System-Centric Design:how will Design go beyond human-centric design to design that pays attention to larger impacts?
  • Ethics in Design:how will Design respond to opportunities and challenges that AR and AI bring?
  • Creating Value:can Design look to smaller more nimble markets as incubators for ideas that can scale?
  • Backlash:negative responses to automation and big brands create an opportunity for design to make meaning by connecting with identity, community and culture
  • Career Lifecycle:In this fast paced, ever-changing world, how should one navigate and approach career-planning? Learn from those who drive, survive and thrive.

DMI is accepting Sponsorship inquiries: Inquire here; and Speaker proposals for 30-minute talks and 90 minute interactive Breakout sessions (send topic(s) + short description). Submit here

Av. de Alfonso XIII, 97

28016 Madrid, Spain

ESNE is a point of reference for university education in the areas of Design, Innovation and Technology, and has been contributing to the enhancement and advancement of the Creative and Digital Industry since its creation in 1988.

Located just north of the Chamartín District, next to the main streets Costa Rica and Avda. Alfonso XIII, as well as M-30 highway. ESNE can be reached via public transportation and closest stations:

Metro: Alfonso XIII (metro line 4) or Colombia (metro line 9 and 8). 10 minutes walk
Bus: At the entrance of the building. Bus line 40 connects with the center
Madrid-Barajas Airport is only a 10-minute drive away.

Chamartín District district is one of the city's most trendy but easy-going corners, with wide avenues, elegant boutique markets, and some charming hotels hidden behind flower-filled gardens. The area is close to the Santiago Bernabéu stadium (home of team Real Madrid), plaza de castilla, four towers skyline, Chamartin railway station, Paseo de la Castellana, and a great culinary and night life area around Padre Damián and Alberto Alcocer streets.

All attendees are responsible for arranging their own travel and hotel accommodations.
