Challenge: Future Visioning for Healthcare


We will take a game-based approach to strategic foresight by introducing the concept of a board game to the future design thinking process.


The Future of Healthcare Visioning game supports rapid future scenario development and enables groups and individuals to quickly begin a dialog and brainstorm possible outcomes and solutions.


A hand of cards supplemented with a few additional game pieces create a scenario for the year 2030 to jump start the discussion and ideation about future challenges, opportunities and possible disruptions.


The game dynamics are designed to simulate diverse future factors that we may have no control over, but which will influence our creative decision making processes by reflecting the conditions of the world and the project under which innovation needs to occur.





Magdalena Paluch

Magdalena Paluch is a Strategic Design Director at BCG Digital Ventures, where she leverages design-thinking and industrial design methodologies to help re-imagine new human-centered user experiences, products and services through multidisciplinary problem solving and close collaboration with Technologists and Business Strategists.


Previously a Trends and Innovation Strategist at Toyota, Magdalena was responsible for identifying key emerging technologies and conceptualizing how they might be applied to human-centered mobility concepts. She leveraged key insights from leading technology experts to help drive innovation, and create future scenario concepts, to shape the strategic priorities of the Toyota, Lexus and Scion brands.


She holds a Master of Science in Industrial Design from Art Center College of Design and a Bachelor of Architecture from University of Tennessee.



Ronald Clark
Ronald Clark, Strategic Design Director at BCG Digital Ventures comes from an industrial design background and focuses on developing compelling products and services to next generation digital start-ups.


He has worked across a range of design specialties including innovation consulting, user research and product development. He has previously worked for pioneering firms Doblin and E-lab at the intersection of design strategy and user experience. He has led product development projects for consumer electronics while at the Sony Design Center and at BMW Designworks where he had his first exposure to consulting for healthcare clients.


Ronald is a member of the Design Management Institute. He has a degree in Industrial Design from the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology and an advanced degree in Film and Video from the California Institute of the Arts.
