With an annual turnover of €25bn, food is both Ireland’s oldest and largest industry. The state agency responsible for the development of food, beverages and horticulture in Ireland, Bord Bia, has responded to this threat with ingenuity and optimism. In 2018 they partnered with The Department of Design Innovation at Maynooth University to create a new Masters program oriented exclusively towards innovation in the food industry. In this presentation Helen King and Trevor Vaugh will discuss the origins, structure and success of the program to date.
