Laurence is the award winning founder and CEO of Pavegen Systems - an innovative clean-technology company based in London. His technology instantly converts kinetic energy from footsteps into renewable off-grid electricity.

Laurence graduated from Loughborough Univeristy with 1st Class Honours in Industrial Design and Technology. Laurence strongly believes that disruptive technologies are the best way to change people’s attitudes to energy and reduce their reliance on fossil fuels and grid power.Pavegen have clients worldwide and have partnered with key brands such as Schneider Electric, Centrica, Adidas, Uniqlo, London 2012 Olympics, WWF and Europe’s largest shopping centre, Westfield.

Laurence is a regular speaker at various high profile events on technology and entrepreneurship including 4 TED talks around the globe, the TED x Berlin talk was featured amongst TED’s top talks on envisioning the cities of the future.

Laurence generates significant international media interest with his charismatic nature,entrepreneurial savvy, and technical knowledge. Extensive press coverage includes; BBC Television News, CNN, The Times, Wall Street Journal, USA today, Wired, & The National Geographic. As noted in the Guardian, Laurence’s work is "shifting the perceptions of renewable energy”.

Other speaking engagements including the UN’s +20 climate conference, Nerve,O2 campus party, the Stadium Business Design & Development Summit, Industry Disruptors-Game Changers in Greece, and he was also a keynote speaker at China’s biggest energy harvesting summit in Shanghai. Most recently Laurence was a member of the sustainability panel when accompanying the Prime Minister, David Cameron as the youngest delegate on the Trade Mission to China.

The significant potential of Laurence and Pavegen has been recognized with numerous awards and accolades, including 3 PEA awards 2013 including Business Person of the Year and Overall Pea Champion, an Observer Ethical award, a 2012 World Technology award, Santander Entrepreneurship Award 2012 and a UKTI British Export of the Year award.
