Eric Anderson is Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Integrated Innovation Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. The Institute focuses on cross-training master students of design, engineering, and business, which are considered the core disciplines of innovation, to create elite innovators. Anderson is also Associate Dean of the College of Fine Arts, and Associate Professor of Industrial Design in the School of Design. He teaches undergraduate studio courses in design and masters courses for the Institute including co-teaching (with colleagues in engineering and business) the Integrated Product Development (IPD) capstone course in the Masters of Integrated Innovation for Product and Services (MII-PS) program. Anderson is a past President of the Board of Directors of the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).
Dr. Nelson Soken is CEO of N.H. Soken Consulting and has consulted with the Mayo Clinic, Medtronic, PARC, and Adventium Labs. He has also held leadership, managerial, design, and technical roles at Medtronic, Baxter Healthcare, and Honeywell International. He is also an Executive Associate, consultant, trainer, and thought leader with Barnes & Conti and has conducted training programs across the US, Europe, and Canada for Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, Honeywell, Citi Bank, New York Life Insurance, Yahoo, TI, Medtronic, and the Hass Business School at UC Berkeley in innovation, strategic thinking, intelligent risk-taking, and influence. Dr. Soken has co-authored a book on the psychology of innovation titled Lead the Pack: Sparking Innovation That Drives Customers Wild.
Dave is a partner at gravitytank and an adjunct professor at IIT’s Institute of Design. He works with organizations big and small to transform ideas into breakthrough products and services. He has helped drive innovation across diverse industries including consumer electronics, hospitality, healthcare, and packaged goods. As senior leader of gravitytank’s Startup Domain, he has led the development of gravitytank’s pioneering blend of user-centered design and lean startup methods. He holds a Master of Design Methods degree from IIT’s Institute of Design and a BA in Political Science and Economics from the University of Michigan.
