Introduction of the dmi:FuturEd Survey Project:

Agile entries into old industries, new dynamics in markets, and blurring lines between disciplines demand designers acquire new or additional skills. Design education is being upended by challenges to traditional approaches, and by calls for new methodologies. A better understanding of changing dynamics in global design education is needed.

The DMI FuturEd Project is a global survey of 4 aspects of future design education:

  • Critical design skills
  • Optimal teaching tools
  • Educational environments
  • Learning methodologies

The project will survey students, educators and design leaders in industry to capture global trend data.
