Persuasive Technology Conference
June 3-5, 2015 (pre-conference workshops June 2)

Spertus Institute | Venue SIX10
610 South Michigan Avenue

In this era of smartphones, the Internet of Things, and data in “the cloud,” there are many new opportunities for a more effective relationship between people and solutions. This year’s Persuasive Technology conference theme is "Personal Empowerment through Persuasive Design."

Keynote speakers include pioneers in the field of persuasive technology and design. Patrick Whitney, dean of IIT Institute of Design, will open the plenary session with his view of design and its crucial role in getting persuasion right. Jodi Forlizzi, from Carnegie Mellon University, who has written influential papers on many topics in human/computer interaction and user experience design will follow. BJ Fogg crystalized this field of research at ACM’s sigCHI conference in 1998 and proposed significant persuasive techniques with his book in 2003. He will speak on Thursday. Friday, our keynote speaker will be Ryan Wynia, a Creative Director at Emmi Solutions, a rapidly growing Chicago-based company that is helping patients change their behavior for better adherence to medical protocols.
