For more than ten years, DMI has been funding
and implementing a range of pioneering research. For example, DMI
has researched and produced a portfolio of Harvard-style teaching
cases on design, and has developed a powerful tool for analyzing
case studies and a conceptual framework for researching cost/value
issues related to design.
While DMI’s research program has yielded excellent
results, it needs to be much broader and deeper. Consequently, a
more direct and focused approach to funding has been developed.
The DMI Research Fund was recently established
for this purpose and we are utilizing many different strategies
