A trip to Victoria’s Secret convinced Peter Keen that strategy is largely irrelevant to business these days, since it is about “how?” when the real issue is “what?” Claiming that most businesses have learned how to get processes right but are focussed on correcting the wrong processes, Keen suggests a process of “ruthless prioritization” to help businesses discriminate between asset and liability processes. That done, a company should outsource the liabilities and hone the assets (espeically the identity processes) to rectify the balance of their corporate portfolios.
