Measuring and Building Design’s Role in Achieving Business Success

31st International Design Management Conference

October 22-25, 2006, Equinox Resort & Spa
Manchester Village, Vermont, USA

Conference BrochureThe 31st International Design Management Conference is once again predicted to go to a waiting list due to strong registration during the month of August. If you are interested in attending, we recommend that you register as soon as possible.

Reservations at the Equinox Resort & Spa should be made by September 22, 2006, as after this date the room block will be released and availability cannot be guaranteed. The Equinox is just a 70-minute drive from Albany International Airport, which receives over 120 flights daily from all major airlines. DMI is arranging shuttle service to and from the airport.

One unique feature of the conference will be the opportunity for several unique and exciting organized recreational activities on Tuesday afternoon at the Equinox. DMI Review Download of the Month
Measuring Success: Using Consumer Research to Document the Value of Package Design
By Scott Young, President, Perception Research Services
From the Design Management Review, Vol. 17, No. 2, Spring 2006

How a product is perceived visually and tactilely can significantly influence competitiveness and sales. The difficulty is distilling the marketplace impact of a particular design. Scott Young comments on research techniques that do not work and, more valuably, identifies others that do, indeed, reveal the subtle relationships between package design and the choices consumers make.
