Relevant Innovation is More Important than Design Thinking
December 9, 1pm EST
Brian Matt, Founder & CEO, Altitude, Inc.
I see the value of design. I dedicated my career to design, ran several design business, and have created my own design consultancy.
Design thinking is trotted out as salvation for businesses that need help with innovation. The idea is that the left-brained, MBA-trained, spreadsheet-driven crowd has squeezed all the value they can out of their methods. To fix things, all you need to do is apply some right-brained turtleneck-wearing creative types, ideating tons of concepts and creating new opportunities for value. That’s not the whole story. For us, the creativity is easy. The hard part, and quite frankly the most important part, is to create something that your audience needs and desires. Don’t do something because you can, do something because you should. Everything else is “Fool’s Gold.” This webinar will begin the discussion of refining Design Thinking to the point where most people understand it and most companies make it useful.
