Design has increasingly drawn the attention of business executives globally, who are told that it can have a considerable impact on the bottom line and are shown great examples. However, many executives are unsure how to incorporate design into their business and strategic plans. They have key questions: “What is the appropriate value of design for the long-term?” “How much attention should be given to design?” “How do you organize and integrate design into all other business areas such as marketing, strategy, manufacturing, etc.?”
This seminar will help executives—those not trained as designers, but who are responsible for design—better understand the purpose and value of design in business.
What you will learn:
-
Definitions of design, and the relationship between design and innovation, design and branding, and between design and customer experience
-
How to design can add value in general, and specific added values of design to incorporate into your company
-
How to select appropriate roles for several design functions in your company
-
How to develop the appropriate organizational structure for your company
-
How to integrate design objectives and strategies into company objectives and strategies
-
How to align communication between executive and creative departments
-
Ways to control and maximize the return on design investments
The future value of design in companies
