DMI Expands Seminar Program

Eight new seminars introduced

Design in Business ToolkitA key precept of DMI’s mission is to “foster education and interaction among design managers, organizational managers, public policy makers, and academics.” To address a clear need for educational offerings that provide practical tools for design and business professionals, the DMI Professional Development Program was founded in 1999 by Peter Phillips, member of the DMI Board of Directors, and Earl Powell, President Emeritus. The program met with considerable success, and evolved and grew over the last eight years to become a highly-respected source of continuing education.

This year marks the most significant expansion of the program to date, with eight new seminars introduced. According to Tom Lockwood, President of DMI, “Our goal is to develop a well-rounded and complete set of unique educational offerings that enable professionals to bring design success to their organizations and advance their careers. DMI will continue to deepen and strengthen its commitment to design and business education, and broaden, expand, and enrich the seminar program.”

The DMI Professional Development Program has now grown to 14 seminars and one in-house custom workshop. We are proud to introduce these eight new seminars to our industry.
