Gilles Rougon,
Design Manager, EDF R&D
Starting from key energy data visualization, Gilles Rougon will share the EDF R&D design management model which has continuously been improving since receiving the 2008 DME Award. Biography: Gilles Rougon
With twelve years of experience in design management from the automobile industry to the security storage sector, Gilles Rougon is currently in charge of the in-house design team for the research & development department of French low carbon energy company EDF Group (160,000 employees and 37 million customers worldwide).
Building a sustainable energy future is at stake when the world is facing a triple “collective” challenge: responding to growing energy needs competitively, while tackling climate change and the depletion of easily accessible resources. At the crossroads of R&D, marketing, communication, and stakeholders needs, the EDF R&D design team tries humbly to lead visionary and strategic open questioning such as concrete problem solving on something invisible but essential for our lives—electricity.
Gilles is deeply passionate about developing design as a driver of change. Because of this he is a contributor to numerous books and an international lecturer.
