DMI London conference postponement/update

As you know, we unfortunately felt an obligation to postpone the DMI conference this week in London. We have received about 40 emails so far thanking DMI for stepping up to this difficult situation and saying this was the right decision. While everyone is of course disappointed, virtually everyone agreed with the decision, so I think we have a very good understanding that this was the right choice.
I have heard many horrendous stories from stranded travelers; one speaker from London has been stranded in Milan for four days, two members from Amsterdam have been stranded in Sweden for six days, a workshop instructor stranded in a US airport for two days waiting for international departure, finally aborted, etc. As a frequent traveler, I feel your pain, and do not want to contribute in any way to this chaos.
That said, this of course has financial ramifications for all of us. DMI had already fully prepared the conference, and has of course many financial commitments; some of our obligations are transferable to a new date, many are not. But our decision to postpone was not based on finances, it was based on what is right for our members and guests.
Our commitment is to do what is right for you. While each of you may have different needs and expectations, I would ask for your patience for a short period of time. We are sorting thru the process of determining new dates considering the conference venue, hotels, catering, receptions, speakers, other activities, etc. It took nearly a year to plan this event, and now we must reschedule everything as fast as possible. So we shall transform our process!
Please bear with us, as we hope to have an announcement by the end of this week. In the meantime, wishing those of you who are still stranded through Europe safe travels home, and hoping you all can enjoy the time that just opened on your calendars this week.
