| The 7th European International Design
Management Conference
Hilton Cologne, Cologne, Germany
March 16-18, 2003
Strategic decisions and intuitions come from analysis and judgment.
Good design embodies both, and business success demands both. Fundamentally,
although decisions and intuitions result in determined outcomes,
the former is often seen as cold and calculating, while the latter
includes passion and judgment. Understanding the central role of
these dimensions in creating customer value is crucial to business
success. How to integrate them is central to design management success.
And, how to ensure that the value perceived by the customer is authentic
in today’s fickle markets is crucial to survival.
A broad range of professionals from corporate, consultant, and
academic backgrounds have already registered for the conference,
representing companies such as Estee Lauder (France), Funcke Ontwerpers
(Netherlands), ARTSANA S.P.A. (Italy),
Nokia (Finland), Elisava, School of Design (Spain), Neworld Design
Group (Ireland), Danish State Railways (Denmark), The Hong Kong
Polytechnic University (Hong Kong), Norwegian Design Council (Norway),
Bosch and Siemens Household Appliances (Germany), Eastman Kodak
Company (USA), Design Council (UK), Hesse Design GmbH (Germany),
Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V. (France), and many
others.
An outstanding international roster of speakers will address aspects
of these important issues, and deeper examination will occur in
delegate discussion sessions.
