City of Brands and
Brand Builders

Some of the world’s most renowned brands and brand builders are located within a few blocks of the conference hotel. The world’s largest consumer goods company, Procter & Gamble; Macy’s, the world’s largest department store company; and Kroger, the world’s largest traditional supermarket chain, are found in downtown Cincinnati. Chiquita, another of the world’s top bananas, is also headquartered in Cincinnati. It is indeed a city of brands.
In fact, brand management was invented in Cincinnati over 70 years ago when Neil McElroy of Procter & Gamble penned his famous memo that changed marketing worldwide forever. Companies in every corner of the world are now structured along the lines that Mr. McElroy first envisioned.
Cincinnati has emerged as a center for advanced brand design. WPP’s Landor has its largest office in Cincinnati. Omincom’s Interbrand has a large office here as well. Major independent agencies, LAGA, Deskey, Fisher, FRCH and LPK are headquartered here. In fact, the Cincinnati Brand Design Alliance will serve as hosts for your visit to Cincinnati and will sponsor an evening cocktail party at the Contemporary Art Center. This stunning building, designed by architect, Zaha Hadid, has been described in The New York Times as the most important American building since the Cold War. Come see for yourself. The Contemporary Arts Center is a short walk from the conference hotel, crossing Cincinnati’s beautiful and lively Fountain Square.
Galleries, museums and great restaurants are all within walking distance of the conference. The conference will be held at the magnificent Hilton Netherland, an art deco masterpiece. The conference sessions will be held in the Hall of Mirrors, a room that you will find to be as inspiring as the impressive roster of speakers we have gathered for this important conference.
Explore the synergy of design, brand and business. Come to Cincinnati in June 2008!
