Remixing Design into Corporate Culture

Christian C. Landry, Senior Executive Director, WW Design & Experience, Cisco Linksys

Christian Landry

What happens when you have to start from scratch in a billion-dollar company and remix the concept of design into a corporate culture—a culture based on dependencies with multiple other overseas companies that are alien to your business and certainly your brand? Cost is the incentive and primary driver, and all too often trumps positive customer experiences and certainly design excellence.

Your call-to-action: Treat the situation like a start-up adventure and dig in. Infrastructure, tools, design vision, processes, resources, communications and basic understanding of design are non-existent; you have an open road, take the wheel and drive fast!
