Businesses need to capture real value from their investments in design. Therefore, measuring the role of design and design management in achieving sustainable business success is of paramount importance. How is this done?
This October, DMI will take on this most important and challenging topic. With a portfolio of experts we will address the topic from multiple points of view. To prepare this conference the Institute has identified seven key categories to measure and build design’s role in business success, which include:
Purchase influence / emotion
Cost savings / ROI / time to market
Enable strategy / new markets
Corporate reputation / brand value
Enable innovation / time to market
Customer satisfaction
Good design is good for all / triple bottom line
Each speaker will address one or more of these key categories. The learning outcome: Conference attendees will discover macro and micro tools and techniques, gain perspective, and become equipped to address this topic in your work on Monday morning, and in your work for years to come. Don’t miss this seminal event.
Conference Full: The 31st Conference has reached capacity. We are now accepting waitlist registrations. Please return the waitlist registration form if you wish to be placed on the list.

This conference is generally regarded as the single most prestigious conference on design management, and has sold out most of the last decade. The conference has a history of utilizing distinctive and elegant New England venues. For many years, the conference took place on Martha’s Vineyard, and since 1991, at the Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod. For 2006, the 31st Design Management Conference builds on this tradition with a new venue: The Equinox Resort & Spa, in Manchester Village, Vermont. Founded in 1769, the historic Equinox features New England charm and amenities such as an 18-hole golf course, spa, indoor pool and fitness center, and a wide range of activities such as off road driving, falconry, hiking and mountain biking. The Equinox is just a 70-minute drive from Albany International Airport.
